Did you know that up to half the weight of freshly sawn wood is water? Furniture is crafted from wood that is carefully dried, retaining just enough moisture for the furniture to properly acclimate to the relative humidity in your environment. The wood continues to exchange moisture with the air, shrinking and expanding in response to changes in relative humidity.
For parquet which need thorough restoration, DRS has equipment to sand down the surface and restore it to its original stain color. This system will also ensure the parquet is left with a smooth feel. Small gaps are fill with fillers and old water mark stain are removed.
DRS has restored wood which have been buckling, cupping or swelling due to a flood or water intrusion. In some cases, we have also managed to reverse back the buckling/swelling wood by using our dry air techniques.
Soot affected wood can be restored if done quickly and correctly. With our proprietary dry fusion technology, we are able to decontaminate the wood to sub micron level without affecting the integrity of the wood surface.
