Background
A flight simulator that was transported to Singapore from Canada was found to be severely affected by mold. The fungus growth accelerated due to Singapore’s humid and tropical weather and the simulator was eventually declared unhealthy for use.
Solutions Provided
DRS was appointed the task of bringing the simulator back to its pre-loss condition. With the assistance of specialized restorative and drying equipment, we managed to dry the crevices in the simulator of all excess moisture. All mold affected surfaces on the interior and external sides were decontaminated and treated.
Impact
The successful mold decontamination led to huge cost savings for the client. They did not have to replace the simulator and in fact, were able to operate the restored simulator with minimal disruption to the business. We also validated the remediation with scientific Indoor Air Quality testing, analysis and reporting.
